The Football CLUB(s) of the city?

Posted by David Brookes on March 28, 2007 9:11 AM

For me football is loads of sexy guys playing rough with each other. I don't really care about football to be honest (it is nice when a local team wins though). Saying that I do sway more towards the RED side only because its how I have been brought up as my family support Liverpool.

The signs around Anfield state

"BLUE OR RED WE ARE BOTH ON THE SAME SIDE"

The signs around Goodison state

"We are the Peoples Club"

I TEND TO THINK FANS DON'T AGREE WITH THE STATEMENTS ABOVE!!!!!!!!!

Are Trophies the most important part of a teams success?
Why do Liverpool think they are the Greatest team in Europe?
Are Liverpool still the greatest team in Europe ?
Why are Everton refered to as Bitter ?
Who are the "Peoples Club" ?
(These are just questions and not my personal views)

Below is a link placing Englands most succesful clubs. It is ranked based only on Trophies. This link placed both Merseyside teams in the top four and personally I think that its amazing that our City has produced these top class teams.

1st Liverpool
2nd Manchester United
3rd Arsenal
4th Everton

I think BLUE OR RED You've both got lots to be proud of !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally a breath of fresh air

To start I am not a smoker (occasionally when drunk the odd one because I can be a K**B) but by no means no more than a few a month if that. Which is something I have stopped as it’s a foul habit. There’s nothing worse than on a nice clear day taking a deep breath of fresh air and inhaling a load of smoke from the person in front. Even worse when you’re out and your clothes and hair stink of smoke the next day. But the worse for me is being stubbed by one (OUCH IT F**CKING KILLS). Normally after being stubbed you’re snarled by idiot holding the burning tar which makes no sense. I hate the way some people (Girls especially) flick ash at other girls down to jealousy (I did say some not all).

So for the above I am looking forward to 1st July SMOKE FREE LIVERPOOL!!!!! In 96 Days, 09 Hours, 56 Minutes, 52 Seconds (at the time of typing).

What do you reckon though?
Has Big Brother (Parliament) gone mad?
Should bar owners get to choose if you can smoke on their premises?
Is it a step to far, at the end of the day it is a personal choice?

Personally I think it’s great the ban but I know lots of people will be feeling anger and frustration. If you’re a smoker why not try and QUIT. Think about others breathing in your habit. Not only will you potentially save your life, save tons of cash, loose that awful cough and finally take a nice deep breath of beautiful fresh air.
Life is a gift so next time you think of lighting up STUB IT OUT.

LIVERPOOL V MANCHESTER

Posted by David Brookes on March 22, 2007 12:35 PM

I am not going to skate around the subject I am totally annoyed at one of the Six in the City columnists he writes for a Liverpool newspaper but always bigs up Manchester. On Wednesday 21st March he writes about his opinions for Liverpool V Manchester I quote " Its one of the best days I'd ever had. It highlighted the difference between the two cities and showed just how far Liverpool needs to come to be able to challenge Manchester as a National shopping destination" & referring to Manchester as " with great transport links, excellent parking facilities and clever developments" Clearly he needs to open his eyes or get a pair of glasses as he must be blind to have missed the phenomenal regeneration of Liverpool at the minute. You can't miss the City of cranes, infact the regeneration is the biggest in Europe. Seriously if one of best day of your life so far was while working in Manchester on Saturday I think you should get out more!!!!!!!! May I add the reason you served people from all over the country was because Manchester United played at home and a large majority of their fans are not from Manchester.

FINALLY ON THE LIVERPOOL V MANCHESTER FRONT.

We are a great city and will become an even greater city in the coming years. I don't want to boost the riches that Manchester as he quoted.Liverpool is unique and does not want to be a shadow of Manchester.
